When you use the keyboard at the bottom of the Kontakt gui no MIDI is used Kontakt is only putting out audio. You can only record MIDI which later gets turned into audio when you bounce the audio in which ever way you want to do that. Instrument tracks are great for hosting instruments but you can't record audio there. Took a while to parse out what you're doing. (By the way, I'm using PT 2020.11.0 - and getting very exasperated, too, I might add.) I've tried every possible combination of Instrument inputs and outputs and I/O inputs and outputs and insert channels and everything I can think of. I hit whatever keys I want on the simulated keyboard, I hear the sound, the meters jump. And I can hear it playing and the meters show signal.īut Record just gives me a blank clip. Today, still experimenting, I came back to play some improv drums along with the Groove I had previously recorded. I just kept trying this and that till finally it worked. Unfortunately, I don't know how I succeeded to do it. Yesterday, I succeeded in recording a running Groove on one track. (I suppose Boom does too, but it's not showing up for me it's just not available). In addition, RealiDrums has many different Grooves you can run. The difference is that with the Kontakt player, it has a simulated keyboard at the bottom which you can use to trigger individual notes or, in the case of the RealiDrums instrument, fills. With this player, you load instruments, much like with Xpand2.
This instrument is called RealiDrums, just one of many that can be loaded into the plug-in player, which is called Kontakt 6. I'm using the instrument itself to trigger.
